Red Kalyna - 5x7 or 8x10 Print - DONATION
"Red Kalyna" - or червона калина in Ukrainian, is inspired by the patriotic Ukrainian folk song of the same name. The song was written by the composer Stepan Charnetsky in 1914, in honor and memory of the Sich Riflemen. It has become a patriotic anthem for the Ukrainian people, singing of freedom and the bravery. The song was banned during the period in which Ukraine was a Soviet Republic (1919-1991), and anyone caught singing it risks jail time, beatings, or even being exiled.
The red kalyna (viburnum) berries symbolize one’s homeland, blood, and family roots.
100% of the profits of this print will go to fund the Ukrainian army directly.
